Evan Williams, Attorney - Placer CountyBiography - Evan Williams

Evan Williams was born in Eureka, California in 1964. His ancestors settled in Humboldt County as early as the 1840's. After graduating from St. Bernard High School in 1982, Evan attended College of the Redwoods, and then finished undergraduate study at California State University - Chico, earning a degree in Business-Finance and Economics.

Evan had volunteered at a legal aid clinic while attending school in Chico. He enjoyed helping people who faced serious problems, and became interested in attending law school. Evan enrolled at the University of Santa Clara, and received a juris doctorate in 1989. After passing the bar exam, he returned to Chico and worked for Peters, Fuller, Rush, Schooling, Carter & Farnsworth. At the Peters firm, Evan had his first civil trials, and assisted with estate planning, business formations, and construction law.

Always interested in returning to his native area, Evan left Chico for Eureka in 1992. He then worked for Janssen, Marchi, Malloy, Needham & Morrison. Evan decided to locate in Sacramento where he had other family members. He initially worked for United States Small Business Administration, and then landed a position with Berding & Weil which opened a Sacramento branch office. At the Berding firm, Evan represented homeowners in complex construction defect lawsuits around Northern California. He then worked for Diepenbrock & Costa in Sacramento for few years before deciding to open his own practice in 2000.

Evan decided to open his office in Auburn because of its location, surroundings, lifestyle, and the people are genuinely kind and helpful, with a real sense of “community.” Auburn is the legal center of Placer County, which is one of the fastest growing areas in California. Auburn is known for being the “Endurance Capital of the World” for the annual Tevis Cup (100 mile horse race) and Western States Race (100 mile human race). Evan enjoys running and cycling on the many trails of the American River canyon.
